Affordable transit pass
A discounted monthly bus pass for community members from low-income households. To qualify, apply to our Municipal Fee Assistance Program (MFAP). Once accepted to MFAP, you will need to opt in to receive the affordable transit pass.
CNIB pass
Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) members are eligible for a fare rate of $0.10 per ride or an annual bus pass for $25.
You must present your CNIB membership card when you buy the annual pass, or to the bus operator when boarding if paying the reduced per-ride fare.
Pick up or renew your CNIB pass at:
- City Hall, 216 Ontario St.
- The Cataraqui Centre - Guest Services Desk, 945 Gardiners Rd.
Support person pass
This pass is available for customers who require the support of another person for any of the following:
- Communication
- Mobility
- Personal care
- Medical needs
Customers must pay the appropriate fare, but when they show their Support Person Pass, their support person can ride the bus for free.
How to apply
- Download the Health Information form and have your healthcare provider fill it out.
- Create a MyKingston account to easily submit your Support Person Pass application online. You will need to complete the applicant information through the online form, and then upload the Health Information form signed by your healthcare provider.
